Still Here, Not Forgotten
Just in case you were getting worried....
Call off the search. I am back - I knew you were getting worried. 🙄
I checked, and the last post was 13th February! What on earth has been happening for 2 months, I hear you cry!
A few things have been keeping me busy: some old, some new, some work, some life-related - here is a snapshot.
Life Action
It was my 50th in March, and yes, dear reader, I was happy to milk it for most of the month. 😂
After losing a close friend at the end of last year, just a few weeks before his 50th birthday, I vowed to make the most of it. To see as many of my friends as possible, capture the moments and enjoy life - in a rapidly changing world, we need to get the balance right now more than ever.
And then we rolled straight into my Dad's 80th. A fantastic gathering bringing family and friends together for a party. After all the challenges in our shared lives - from his heart attack at a young age, losing Mum to cancer in 2023 and then his stroke soon after - it's been a rollercoaster of a journey, and one to celebrate.
Work Action
People often ask what I do for work, and if it's 'just this'?
Well, it's complicated, and it's a transition, like the energy and climate transition! I still have my old business partnership, with active clients and projects.
We have been delivering digital marketing services and developing 3D animations for clients for almost 6 years now. These last couple of months was hectic, delivering two animations back-back for specific conferences and exhibitions.
⚡️ A global genset brand - standby power solutions for data centres.
👨🏻🔬 UK SME in filtration systems - palladium catalyst recovery for the pharmaceutical sector.
I am also gradually building this business, and have been working with and supporting a client in the geothermal sector.
Also scoping out a project with a EU-based clean power startup in the logistics sector.
I got around to updating my LinkedIn profile - clean and clear!

I have also had a refresh on the About section - let me know if you want to discuss how I can support your business. LinkedIn.
Need to build a website for that offer - it's on the to-do-list! 🥴
Event Action
I held my regional advocacy and ecosystem growth event last week - Climate Tech Impact_South 04.
Our theme for this one was Marine. Quick recap of proceedings here:

If you want to check out past events, and also sign up to the mailing list for future events, and access to the past event reports, head this way ⬇️

I have a draft of the evenings 04 report from our AI event intelligence partners, Lorefully - incredible insights captured from speakers and the audience in our breakout sessions. 🙏
Those insights are really helping differentiate our event and return value to the whole ecosystem as part of the ongoing shared learning and understanding across topics in climate and energy.
A final note from our event sponsors, the excellent D Young & Co LLP, innovation and IP legal team based in Southampton. They delivered a great talk and I suspect will be getting some more phone calls from startups and innovators for guidance on navigating IP.
If you want to chat, speak with Arun Roy or Robbie Berryman and let them know I sent you 😉

On that note, exciting news to share - the work I've been putting into to Konfab via Talking Climate Tech and Climate Tech Impact_South hasn't gone unoticed...
I've been offered the opportunity to host my own VIP invitational event at Reset Connect, the showpiece event, part of London Climate Action Week. 🥳

More on that in a follow-up post when I can send all the details on the speakers etc - I can tell you the event is listed on Reset Connect:

No Action
What's missed out in recent weeks?
There have been no new editions of the Talking Climate Tech newsletter, the hiatus continues. Sorry to all those new subscribers who have joined in this fallow period - think of it like Glastonbury; sometimes it just needs a rest and reset.
Hopefully you have made you way through some of the archive, guest articles and interviews in the meantime.
I previously mentioned video interviews 7,8,9,10 still remain recorded but not edited and released. I have done a few shorts on 7, will get back to that one next week! 🎙️
And my own personal website still hasn't happened. 😔
New Premium News
Finally, to end on a positive vibe, I can tell you about a new thread of content launching next week!

You may have seen some of Michael's blogs here previously:
Michael will be sharing weekly insights and deep dives across:

39,000 LinkedIn followers already look towards his in-depth analysis. Some less scrupulous people also borrow his work and claim it for their own use.
We felt it was the right time for Michael to get some value from all his hard work, comittment to decarbonisation strategies, and knowledge sharing.
His background - 34 years in multi-sector engineering, including 17 years with a leading European gas transiting, shipping and distribution organisation.
A deep technical background across energy systems, previous engagements have included decarbonisation advisor to the Slovakian Ministry of Transport, and Chairman of Board, Slovak Post.
More on this next week...
As existing subscribers you will get acess to a free trial to see what you think and if you want to upgrade to get Michael's weekly insights, plus all the existing free stuff. Talking Climate Tech will remain free.
That's a wrap, a quick blast to get you back up to speed!
Standby for something new next week...
Thanks for your time, interest, and support as always, let's keep pushing forward - remember, the momentum is unstoppable despite everything you might see and hear! 🌍
