🎙️EP3 - AI + Data for the Energy Transition
A conversation with Damian Bemben on AI's role in the Energy Transition

Welcome to the 3rd episode! 🎙️
Introduction
This time round, I'm in conversation with Damian Bemben of Ada Mode. With a Master's in Computer Science and a self-confessed AI-geek, he definitely has his finger on the pulse of practical use cases of AI, LLM and Big Data in the Energy Transition.
Perhaps what you weren't expecting; a discussion on the intersection of AI and peanuts. 🥜
...the entire world into pure peanut manufacturing because the constraints are not in place for it to stop.
What madness is this?
And, yes I also did ask him whether AI would take over the world and if he agreed with Geoffrey Hinton ['Godfather of AI'] on this...🤔
Meanwhile as we wait for the 'end of days', we go on to discuss the implications of AI in climate technology, focusing on its role in data analytics, safety systems, and the energy transition.
Energy system modelling needs to adapt; models need to become dynamic.
We also explore the tools and technologies used in data management, the importance of collaboration in industrial decarbonisation, and the challenges of energy system modelling in the UK.
There is no AI that will solve our grid problems by itself, no matter how much data you feed it.
The discussion also touches on the future of AI legislation, how it could kill innovation, the Solent Cluster industrial decarbonisation modelling project for our local region, and the balance between AI and human oversight in industrial applications.
We aren't going to reach Net Zero...it will require collaboration at a level we are currently not seeing..
